This track is a fictional bush myth I created about a girl lost in the wilderness, cared for and protected by kangaroos deep within the Australian scrub. “Roo girl never ages and if you your lucky enough to see her she’ll bring light into your life.

Lyrics

There in the fading light, the gate it welcomes all,
Beyond the path lays waiting, near the river grasses tall
Overhead in the fading sky, sea birds fly on home
So begins the start of a peaceful night

Where the river bends, the fishing time begins
In the stillness of this haven, I feel a presence that stirs my soul
Up ahead two shapes appear, within the limits of my sight
A shimmering of the evening air and light

So, the story goes about the girl that disappeared
She walked into the wilderness alone
And it’s rumoured if you see her standing by a kangaroo
The answer you seek becomes known

Roo girl She’s the daughter of this land
The only one that saved us that night
Roo girl come and take our hand
Lead us to a place where things are right

Over there just by the bank hidden in the trees
Lys a headstone of a child, I’ll never know
My love to all the children who never made it on their way
Bless their souls we bow our heads and say

Roo girl, She’s the daughter of this land
The only one that saved us that night
Roo girl come and take our hand
Lead us to a place where things are right

Roo girl, She’s the daughter of this land
The only one that saved us that night
Roo girl come and take our hand
Lead us to a place where things are right

Lead us to a place where things are right

Where things are right
